Can you heal from a Past Life?

To be truthful, there are times when I feel that if I had some magical power to argue a universal expression or law, I would. And past life hiccups are one of those times. I would argue that once you’ve experienced something once, you are free. But at least in this case, it doesn’t really matter what I would argue.

Last October, I was working a Spirit Fair in OKC. A pretty lady sat down across from me. We were in the process of exchanging greetings, when I reached out to touch her hand,

I immediately started seeing Past Life energies flooding in:

I saw her. In a field. In a prairie. This was a long time ago. Before electricity or running water. A small, one room cabin. I then saw her lying on a home made bed. It looked like home made blankets around straw. I saw her in pain. Head pain. I then could see the brain tumor. Hurting Her. Killing Her.  And then that life was over. The brain tumor took her life. She was young.

As this vision escaped my mouth, she immediately became pale and then a state of absolute acceptance came over her face. With tears in her eyes, she said “I have a brain tumor in this life time.”  My only response was this: Well, since it’s already taken your life once, it most likely cannot kill you in this life time. It’s a past life hiccup: something for you to release.

I don’t have a really, good, kick ass explanation for why past life issues recycle as much as they do. I wish I did.

The best explanation I can offer is this:

We are Accumulatory Beings. There is no start, stop. No beginning, No End. There is just a state of being that allows us to remain in a constant state of growth and ascension. And in the spirit and efforts of that continual growth and ascension, we just kept recycling the same energy, until we are completely done with it. We will continue to reincarnate with the Same Souls, the Same (or similar) Soul Contracts and the same Soul Lessons until we get it right.

In the example of the lady with the brain tumor, she had already died from it once. But she hadn’t learned how to release it. It still held power over her in the physical state, not enough to kill her but certainly enough to cause her pain and headaches. And when she was finally ready, she could release the energy of the tumor (and all the soul lessons it held) from her being – for good. (I was really impressed with this woman. She was a pretty powerful spirit being, and I know that when she is ready, she will fully heal and empower herself. She was a pretty amazing soul.)

In my healing and coaching practice, I see life situations and clients being affected by Past Life stuff all the time. It’s very, very common.

So let’s get real about Past Life issues – what they are, how they manifest and how you can release them.

  • The Soul Contract

Sometimeblog2s, when I look at Soul Contracts, I flash to Dr. Faustus. I see some very good soul being duped into a very painful soul contract with a dark or negative soul. But I am gently reminded that this is not the case.

When two (or more) souls enter into a Soul Contract, each does so willingly. There is no coercion, only the request. And sometimes, it can take more than one lifetime for the soul contract to be fulfilled. Some soul contracts are painful while on earth. Some of loving and supportive.

Example of a painful soul contract:  *Trina is in a place of soul growth where she wants to know that she is worth loving and deserving of true love.  Trina and  Mike are members of the same soul family, and they have been in many life times together, in many different roles. Mike agrees to a painful soul contract with Tina. He will give her a very unhealthy option for love. He knows her weaknesses and he will exploit them. he will push her and push her — until she gets it.  This soul contract is one to make sure Tina knows her own value and refuses to let anyone take that from her. Trina incarnates on earth with some amazing gifts but still cannot believe that she deserves a healthy and pure love. And Mike and Trina are powerfully drawn to eachother, but the relationship is dysfunctional, abusive. And any relationship between these two people will be dominated by that soul contract. When you think of this type of contract: think Tina Turner and Ike Turner. Or for a more modern day version: Rhianna and Chris Brown.  Rhianna will find herself drawn to Chris until she has fully released this soul contract. And until that happens, they will never be healthy for eachother.

Example of Loving soul contract: This type of soul contract can still involve challenges, pain and growth, but the core of the contract is love and support. It can sometimes be tough love but it can also be unconditional love. When I think of this kind of contract, I think of Jane and Robin from Boys on the Side. From the moment they found eachother, they were working towards the soul growth and healing for them both. Loving soul contracts are easy to understand. They are the foundation for many soul mate relationships and life long friendships. I sometimes think of a love based soul based relationship as the “home” for both people while they are on earth.

Soul Contracts can have clean lines for single purposes — such as a contract to encourage a loved one to write a book. Or they can be far more complicated with several different facets and purposes. A Soul Contract is always voluntary. And it is possible to abandon a soul contract while on earth, but it’s rare and difficult to do so.

  • The Soul Assignmentblog3

Similar to a Soul Contract is a Soul Assignment. A Soul Assignment is very similar to a Teacher (master) to Student relationship. They are often one on one and can last several life times. In a Soul Assignment, the student soul has become stuck and is no longer ascending or growing. The student soul gets to earth and becomes so captivated by the physical earth and the physical life that a higher vibrational soul will volunteer as Teacher to help this soul get back on track. A Soul Assignment can also happen if a high vibrational soul gets disoriented on earth and loses his way. Spirit may send him a teacher to get him back on track.

  • The Soul Lesson

You know the saying, “if at first you don’t succeed, then try, try again.” I swear this mantra was delivered to earth by spirit because of the Soul Lesson. You will keep living and learning you Soul Lessons, until you have satisfied the lesson and are ready to move forward. The Soul Lesson for the lady with a brain tumor was one of empowerment and healing. She didn’t finish the lesson in her last lifetime, so it revisited her again in this one.

Our Soul Lessons are what we choose to learn. Common soul lessons are Empowerment, Healing, Unconditional Love, Being authentic to yourself, Your feelings/thoughts/words matter, and many more. Soul Lessons will continue to bring us the opportunity to learn and embrace them. So the next time you feel like life is throwing you a boomer rang – “what, this again?” – ask yourself is this could be a soul lesson?

Soul lessons are often designed to bring us to our Soul Purpose. My soul lessons were all in poverty, disease, disability and suffering. For years, I misunderstood. I truly believed that God hated me. I couldn’t see the value in these repetitive lessons in pain. It was only when I embraced the lesson and purpose that the cycling stopped. And once the cycling stopped, I had such a powerful transformation and I was forever changed.

  • A Vow

Okay, take a deep breath. This one is going to be painful for a lot of people.blog4

Vows are a big deal. Many times, conditions in our past lives have prompted or required us to take various vows.

  • Poverty
  • Celibacy
  • Suffering
  • Hunger
  • Denial

All of my clients who have taken vows of one or all of these in a past life were still feeling the effects in their current lifetime. In my own past life history, I had taken vows of poverty, celibacy and suffering. And I had to work on each of them individually to release them. Vow Release is not easy, but it can and should be done. There are many healers who will recommend releasing your vows with blood, since most vows would have been made in blood. I always leave that up to the client.

I always recommend vow releasing to be done on several levels.

1. Write out a letter/statement of everything you have learned and experienced from taking this vow.

2. Write out a statement of why you are now finished with this vow.

3. Write out a statement of release: “I, name, release this vow of _______ in all directions of time” and then burn this piece of paper. I prefer to use flash paper because there is nothing left. No ashes, No residue. It’s a powerful metaphorical release for what you are energetically doing.

If you use regular paper, you need to return the ashes to the earth when finished.

It can sometimes take several attempts to fully release vows. Instead of thinking about it as success or failure, think of it as slowly chipping away at a solid structure. You  may have repeated these vows in  many lifetimes, and your entire earthly life may have been built around living them. Be patient with yourself. It takes time. If you stick with it, you will get there. Eventually.

It Matters.

Past Life Stuff Matters. Truly. Think of how much your childhood has affected you in this life time. It all matters. Were you raised by one parent? or two? Happy, loving home? or abusive and violent home? Only child? or one of six?

Some people spend years in therapy to heal their childhood issues, but entire lifetime issues are being missed. We are accumulatory. We keep cycling through some of the same situations, until all members of our soul family or soul group heal.

There just aren’t words for how exciting and mind blowing I find past life work. I can find out much, much more about the person sitting in front of me by going into their past lives than I can just looking at this current life time. And without knowing a single detail about this person, I can intuit many of their present life dynamics just by looking at their past life history. It never fails to amaze me.

You can find answers within you. It’s just as simple as healing your insecurities as an adult by looking to your childhood. It’s connected. It’s you – the history of your soul

You can heal this life by seeking answers from your past life.

And I can help. . .
